We currently have an exciting opportunityfor a Senior Inventory Analyst to be based in the Nuns Island Montreal and reports to the Assistant Controller – Costing.

Job Summary:

IPEX is currently looking for a motivated, passionate, and dynamic person to fill the position of Senior Inventory Analyst, reporting to the Assistant Controller - Costing. As part of the costing team, this person will have responsibilities in the preparation of inventory analysis and control including slow moving inventory and potential obsolescence. Overall responsibility for the training and supervision of 1 inventory analyst for IPEX NA and key business partner for DCs across NA. Inventory control as it pertains to regrind, scrap, inventory reserves, and annual physical inventory is key to this position. Analysis pertaining to the annual audit, providing data and analysis for the quarterly forecasts, and participation in ad hoc projects is also key.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively work with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the reporting expectations are clearly defined and understood;
     
  • Train and supervise the inventory analyst helping to control and maintain the inventory management system;
     
  • Manage the annual physical inventory process and support the inventory cycle counting process;
     
  • Analysis of different obsolescence reasons and establish and recommendation of reserves for obsolescence;
     
  • Year-end adjustment of raw materials to Weighted Average Cost and according to Company guidelines and IFRS;
     
  • Organize and validate operational information (financial, scope, risk, performance, quality) and compile regular reports;
     
  • Oversee, identify, and resolve deviations;
     
  • Recommend corrective actions to resolve issues related to inventory;
     
  • Complete ad hoc assignments to support DCs;
     
  • Journal entry preparation;
     
  • Assist DC managers with any inquiries;
     
  • Periodic visit and/or work sessions at the DCs;
     
  • Participate in year-end preparations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting;
     
  • CPA-CMA, CPA, or MBA designation, or close to obtaining;
     
  • 4-7 years of Inventory experience;
     
  • Fully bilingual (French and English);
     
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and information;
     
  • Analytical, detail oriented;
     
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows software environment (Excel and Word compulsory).

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of own procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other disciplines;
     
  • Ability to review and analyze new situations based on the analysis of information and previous experiences;
     
  • Possess strong communication and diplomacy skills;
     
  • Collaborates with other departments within IPEX.

Key Contacts:

  • Offer direct financial communication with DC managers, internal accounting/costing department, internal purchasing/procurement, Supply Chain, and upper management;
     
  • Collaboratively work with all internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Nearly always work indoors in corporate office environment with long periods of sitting;
     
  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels;
     
  • Employee may experience progressive degrees of factors in the work process which may cause mental tension or anxiety (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands);
     
  • Employee is expected to communicate by Microsoft team, Zoom, telephone, e-mail, and in-person discussions;
     
  • May have a high level of social contact.
